• Benzodiazepines (medications used for anxiety, panic disorders, insomnia, or muscle relaxation, such as alprazolam/Xanax, lorazepam/Ativan, clonazepam/Klonopin, diazepam/Valium, etc.)
• Other depressants/sedatives (including barbiturates like phenobarbital or pentobarbital; non-benzodiazepine hypnotics/”Z-drugs” such as zolpidem/Ambien, eszopiclone/Lunesta, zaleplon/Sonata; and others like GHB or similar agents)
• Hallucinogens (psychedelics or perception-altering substances such as LSD, psilocybin/magic mushrooms, peyote, MDMA/ecstasy, ketamine, when used in this context, etc.)

This policy applies across the practice and is designed to reduce the risk of dependence, tolerance, withdrawal, misuse, and other potential harms, in alignment with current clinical guidelines and safer prescribing standards.
