The Story of Lok Clinic: A Three-Generation Legacy of Healing

Lok Clinic’s roots stretch back over fifty years, beginning with Dr. Yee-Kung Lok, a pioneering acupuncturist from Hong Kong. In 1973, he collaborated with Nevada legislators to demonstrate the effectiveness of acupuncture, which led Nevada to become the first U.S. state to legalize acupuncture and Chinese medicine. 

Dr. Yee-Kung Lok served as President of the largest college of acupuncture in Hong Kong and lectured around the world.  Dr. Yee-Kung Lok was able to work closely with the Nevada state legislators in 1973, ultimately convincing them that acupuncture should be a recognized area of medicine by providing medical treatment to those who sought it. Due to the demand-driven requests of those patients who benefited first-hand from Dr. Yee-Kung Lok’s care, Nevada became the first state in the United States to recognize and legalize acupuncture and Chinese medicine as an established and respected area of medicine.

In 1975, Dr. Peter Lok joined his father, Dr. Yee-Kung Lok, in practice in Las Vegas, where they provided acupuncture services.

In 1987, Dr. Peter Lok went on to establish his own practice, Lok Acupuncture Clinic.

Today, the legacy continues with Dr. Henry Lok, DO, third-generation healer and founder of Lok Clinic. At the same historic location—1818 E Desert Inn Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89169—he expanded the practice into a full integrative pain management and regenerative medicine clinic. 

This fusion of Eastern and Western medicine remains the foundation of his philosophy: 
“The physician guides the patient to heal from within.”
